The awards will be given to four doctoral theses discussed in the three years 2024-2026 on topics related to General Botany, Systematic Botany, Environmental and Applied Botany, and Pharmaceutical Botany. The award will be given after the Commission’s evaluation and announced by the President of the S.B.I. during the Members’ Meeting at the 121st Congress in Reggio Calabria.
Theses to be evaluated must be sent to the S.B.I. Secretariat (sbi@unifi.it) no later than 5th June 2026, and may be submitted by both members and non-members.
The prizes consist of registration for the 121st Congress, a contribution towards travel expenses (up to € 200.00), payment for accommodation and the social dinner. A free one-year membership of the S.B.I. is also offered.
Candidates will NOT have to pay the Congress registration fee until the scholarships have been awarded. Those who have not been awarded a scholarship may still choose to participate by paying the non-increased amount.
