Abstracts must be compiled in accordance with the instructions below and sent to the S.B.I. via the reserved area of the Congress website, but only after registering (using the Registration link) no later than 5th June 2026. In order to submit abstracts, you must be registered for the entire Congress, not just for a single day.
The first author MUST be registered for the Congress and may not submit more than one abstract as first author.
The Scientific Committee of the Congress, composed of the Executive Board and the Working Group Coordinators, reserves the right to ask authors to convert their posters into oral presentations. To this end, it is important to correctly indicate the identification code (topics table) of the work presented.
Summary
The summary must be written on a single A4 sheet (any extra pages will be discarded) with a 2 cm margin on all four sides. Single spacing must be used, and there must be a space after punctuation marks.
The font must be Times New Roman (size 11). In special cases, underlining or italics may be used.
There should be no spaces between paragraphs, except between the title and the names/address, between the names/address and the text, and between the text and the list of references.
The title (in bold) must be preceded by the identification code of the abstract that identifies the topic to which it belongs (see Key Words table), in 12-point font.
The full names of the authors must be written in 11-point font. Their addresses should be written in 10-point font on the line immediately below.
References should be cited in the text with a number and listed at the end of the text in 10-point font. There should be no more than three references.
Any figures may be included by sacrificing part of the text space and must have a caption in 10-point font.
Poster
Posters (consisting of a single ‘slide’) should not be printed; they will be presented in the lecture hall and on specially dedicated digital screens. They must be in landscape format and sent to the SBI secretariat in both .pdf and .jpg format by 31th July 2026. In the event of submission after this date or submission of non-compliant materials, the organisers cannot guarantee participants the opportunity to present their scientific contribution at the conference.
As the posters will be projected in the lecture theatre to support a brief description of the research carried out, we strongly recommend using a graphical abstract format with a few key images and bullet points.
The contact person for the organisation of abstracts is the S.B.I. Secretariat (tel. +39 055.2757379 – sbi@unifi.it).
Authors are required to complete and send a release form by email to sbi@unifi.it to allow the material to be disclosed.
The sample abstract file and release form can be downloaded from the website on the pages dedicated to the Congress.
